Rangers dual-national left-back Jayden Meghoma has expressed confidence and determination ahead of their upcoming trip to face Falkirk, insisting every match is a crucial step in their title pursuit.
Born in the United Kingdom, Meghoma has represented England's Young Lions from U15 to U20 level, but has highlighted that he is open to playing for the Super Eagles, for whom he is eligible through his Nigerian father.
Meghoma, who joined the Scottish club on loan from Brentford, was a key figure for the club before the signing of Rommens Tuur in the winter window.
The 19-year-old has, however, reclaimed his position and enjoyed a consistent run in the team since the injury to the Belgian left back.
Speaking to Rangers' official webpage, ahead of the match, the young defender highlighted the team’s focus on securing maximum points as the season progresses.
“Every game is exciting for us," he said. "It is another opportunity to get three points and push for the title."
Meghoma also praised the internal competition within the squad, particularly his positional rivalry with Tuur Rommens, noting that it has played a key role in his development.
“Healthy competition is always important, for myself and for Tuur, so I have enjoyed it because it pushes a different side of you; it has all been a learning experience," he added.
He explained that learning from teammates and observing their experiences has helped him grow, describing the environment as one that constantly pushes players to improve.
"I think you can always pick up things from other players, and {Rommens} Tuur is obviously one of those, as he plays in a similar position to me."
"So you learn things that he does from his past experiences, and you look at what other players are doing around the team to aid your game."
"Over the season, a lot of players have helped me with learning new things here and there."
The defender emphasized that team success remains the ultimate priority, adding that personal opportunities are secondary to collective achievements.
"It is all about the team, for myself it is an opportunity, but as long as we are winning games of football, then that is the most important part, and if I can help towards it, then it is amazing," he concluded.
