Oyo ALGON Thumbs Up YSFON

The Chairman of Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) Oyo State chapter Hon. Yekeen Popoola has commended the effort of Youth Sport Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) over towards developing grassroots football in Nigeria.
The Oyo ALGON boss who made the remark while doing the appraisal of the money spinning Under-17 soccer tourney organized by Oyo State YSFON and was bankrolled by ALGON which has entered its semifinal after two months of football actions across the state.
The council boss said the tourney had recorded a good impact on the lives of youths in the state by positively engaging them especially while they were on long vacation that had just ended.
Yekeen said efforts of YSFON in positively engaging Nigerian youths through sports cannot be undermine thereby calling on the other sports bodies who only out to milk innocent soccer lover to emulate YSFON.
“Our aims for partnering YSFON are to help promote healthy living among our youths, re-orientate, redirect their goals and visions for sustainable self development, and to contribute to the pool of qualitative & professional football players in the country”, Oyo ALGON boss noted.
The Oyo ALGON Unity Cup according to YSFON Chairman in Oyo State Rafiu Alabi Oluaye has entered the semifinal round after Iseyin LG defeated Ogbomoso LG 3goals to 2 while Ibadan South/East qualified for the last four at the expense of Irepo 5-3 via
penalties.
Oluyole also booked a place in the semi by beating Akinyele 4-2.
