Emmanuel Emenike : I Was Not Happy In Russia
Published: November 06, 2013 Nigeria international Emmanuel Emenike has expressed delight over the reelection of Aziz Yildirim as the President of Fenerbahce.
Yildirim was elected as the supremo of the Yellow Canaries earlier this month to continue his 15 - year romance with the club.
“As a team, we will continue on our way, and our goals. I am very happy that our president Aziz Yildirim was reelected.
“President brings to Fenerbahce all the material and spiritual values, large and indisputable. All of us are aware of that. Would like to congratulate him,” Emmanuel Emenike told the official Fenerbahce magazine.
The 26 - year - old signed a multi - year contract with the Istanbul giants after spending two seasons with Russian Premier League outfit Spartak Moscow.
And the striker has now said that he fancied a return to Turkey due to the cultural differences.
“Russia is a very different experience for me. Russian people are different!
“Spartak Moscow, the club, my trainer, my team-mates and everyone who works there, I tried to feel at home, worked hard.,
“But to speak frankly, I was not happy. Just kept doing my job professionally, ”he stated.
Emmanuel Emenike, who has netted 4 goals in his last 3 Super League games, is a fan of the Ivorian forward Didier Drogba, who is on the payroll of another Istanbul team Galatasaray.
