Fgura United Attacker Joseph Okonkwo Blames Referee For Dismissal
Published: December 11, 2013
Fgura United Joseph Okonkwo was frustrated by his red card against Dingli Swallows on Sunday and has blamed poor refereeing .
As a result of Okonkwo’s sending off at the Centenary Stadium, the Disciplinary Committee of Malta Football Federation has handed him a one - match ban.
“Both of the yellow cards for simulation were undeserved. The player was holding my shirt. I could not believe the referee sent me off early in the second half.
“I scored in the first half but it was called off. I was not fined by my club or the MFA for the dismissal,”says Joseph Okonkwo to allnigeriasoccer.com.
The former Pepsi Academy ace will miss the upcoming fixture against Mqabba on December 14.
