Published: April 10, 2014The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, FCT chapter, has sent a condolence message to the Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association Golf, Joe Kyari Gadzama over the death of his wife, Mrs Janada Kyari Gadzama, who died on Monday night in Abuja.
The chairman SWAN, FCT chapter, Kayode Adeniyi, expressed shock over the news and wished the family and associates the fortitude to bear the loss.
“The sports writers in FCT and the entire sports family mourn with you on the sudden death of your wife. We pray that God will
grant the family and friends left behind the fortitude to bear the loss, while also praying that God will grant her eternal rest.” Kayode said
Meanwhile, bad weather in the form of heavy rain disrupted the football match between the SWAN, FCT chapter football team, popularly known as “Pen-strikers” and the FCT coaches.
The match which was played late on Wednesday at the area 3 play ground in Abuja, was called off after just 30 minutes with the score line at 2-0 in favor of the FCT coaches.
Pen-strikers’s captain, Arafat Agbadu Aliu, said his team would have destroyed the FCT coaches in the second half, had rain not disrupted play.
“It was obvious that the coaches invoked the rain, because they knew we were going to take them to the cleaners in the second half. They would have fizzled out just like they did in previous matches” Arafat boasted.
The Chairman, FCT coaches, Godwin Bamigboye, who also captained his team, said SWAN should thank the rain for saving their blushes.
“It was a fantastic game and we could have won by as much as five goals if not for the rain.” Bamigboye said.
