Ahead of the World Cup which starts around two weeks time, Scotland gave Nigeria cause for concern after they held the African champions to a 2 - 2 at Craven Cottage on Wednesday evening in an international friendly.

The Tartan Army dominated most of the first half, with Celtic man Charlie Mulgrew giving them the lead in the 10th minute after receiving  an assist from Shaun Maloney .

Cercle Brugge forward Michael Uchebo equalized for the Super Eagles , his first international goal in only his second appearance, after he fired home a volley in the 41st minute.

Seven minutes after the restart, Scotland restored their one - goal advantage after an own goal by Azubuike Egwuekwe, one of the three home based players that made the starting lineup.

SC Heerenveen striker Uche Nwofor salvaged a late draw for Nigeria with a poacher’s goal in the 90th minute, showing good physical presence to evade his markers before firing past McGregor .

The Super Eagles will trade tackles with Greece and United States in their remaining tune up games before the clash with Iran on June 16.
