Eskisehirspor , Sivasspor Kicked Out Of Europa League
Published: June 08, 2014Despite playing in the final of the Turkish Cup final last term, Eski�ehirspor have been kicked out of the 2014 - 2015 UEFA Europa League for running foul of Article 2(07)g of the Regulations of the UEFA Europa League.
The rule states that clubs must not be involved in any activity aimed at arranging or influencing the outcome of a match at national or international level and must confirm this to the UEFA administration in writing.
Sivasspor., who pay the wages of Nigeria international John Utaka, are also not eligible to participate in the next edition of the Europa League for breaking the rules.
Both clubs can appeal against the decision within the next nine days to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).
EskiÅ�ehirspor midfielder Raheem Lawal is now holidaying in Lagos, Nigeria, and claims not to be aware of UEFA’s decision.
