Fanendo Adi Named MLS Player Of The Week
Published: June 10, 2014Portland Timbers forward Fanendo Adi has been recognized for his imperious display against Real Salt Lake this past weekend, after he was named Major League Soccer Player of the Week for the 14th round of matches in the championship.
23 - year - old Adi bagged a first half brace in the 3 - 1 win over Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday.
And two weeks ago, the FC Copenhagen loanee also netted a double, his first pair of goals in the MLS, in the 2 - 0 victory over Chivas USA.
The MLS Player of the Week is selected by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR), which consists of journalists working in print, television and online media.
Fanendo Adi ’s contract with the Timbers will run out at the end of next month, but the club are working on a deal to acquire him outright from his Danish employer.
