Stephen Keshi Suggests Super Eagles Standards Have Dropped
Speaking at a press conference after the goalless draw against South Africa, Nigeria manager Stephen Keshi has admitted that the squad improved slightly compared to the lackluster display against Congo in their penultimate match.

And he has suggested the standards of the Super Eagles dropped, having not played a competitive game for  more than two months before the start of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

“The game was not bad, I thought it was a very good tactical play, and a good side by Bafana Bafana, and I thought you guys must have enjoyed the game,” Keshi was quoted as saying by SL10.ng at the press conference.

“A little bit of improvement from my players, a lot better than what we did on Saturday. It’s been like three months we have not been together and it is taking time to gel.

“I know that by the time we play our next game in Sudan, we’ll be much much better, but I’m not totally satisfied but I liked what I saw today.”

After two rounds in Group A, Congo have maximum points, while South Africa are in second position,  two points behind them.
