Sudan Take Eagles To Artificial Pitch
The African Cup of Nations qualifying match between Sudan and Nigeria earlier scheduled to take place at Al-Merriekh Stadium in Omdurman has been moved to the capital Khartoum.

The 30,000 capacity stadium, home ground of Sudan Premier League side Al Ahli Khartoum, has an artificial pitch.

The Khartoum Stadium which opened in 1957 was last renovated seven years ago, and hosted the 2011 African Nations Championship.

Meanwhile, on Monday the Sudanese squad began training for the crucial encounter against Nigeria at the Football Academy of Technology, with 14 players taking part in the first workout.

The players are being lodged at the Balqrand Holiday Villa, and will remain there until they jet out to Nigeria for the reverse fixture next week.

The Super Eagles will depart for Khartoum with a private jet on Thursday, October 9, two days before the clash with the 1970 African champions.
