Should he score another brace in the away game against Sevilla next weekend, the Nigeria international would join an elite group of players to have scored 100 goals in the Spanish championships, including Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Yellow Submarine defeated Almeria, who featured Ramon Azeez, 2 - 0, thanks to goals on either side of the half by Ikechukwu Uche.
A breakdown of Ikechukwu Uche’s goals revealed that he netted 2 goals for Racing Ferrol, 50 for Recreativo de Huelva while he registered his name on the score - sheet 36 times for Getafe, Real Zaragoza, Granada and Villarreal.
The 30 - year - old is currently locked in talks with the Villarreal power-brokers over the extension of his contract, which expires at the end of this season.
