Ifeanyi Onyilo Happy To Be Among The Top Scorers In Cyprus
Published: November 03, 2014
Red Star Belgrade loanee Ifeanyi Onyilo has stressed that he had no doubt whatsoever that Ermis would secure the maximum points against AEL Limassol in the Cypriot Championship on Sunday.
The 24 - year - old netted his second goal of the game in the 65th minute to give Ermis a 3 - 2 lead, but the home team had 25 minutes to find an equalizer, ignoring time added on by the match referee.
“It was a tough game and being 1-0 down in the second minute made it more harder but luckily we equalized early to bring us back to the game.
“Yes I had the confidence that we will win the game because AEL were one man down by that time,” Ifeanyi Onyilo, who turned 24 on Friday, told allnigeriasoccer.com.
On loan at Ermis from Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade till the end of this season, Ifeanyi Onyilo has scored four goals in seven appearances in the league.
“Yes I am very happy to be among the top strikers. I have not thought about being the top scorer but I will see by the end of the season how it will end but every thing is possible,” he added.
After eight rounds, Ermis occupy the seventh position on the table following the win against AEL.
