Reading Midfielder Hope Akpan Out For Two Weeks

Hope Akpan pulled his shoulder against Congo during the African Cup of Nations clash , and could spend not less than two weeks on the sidelines, according to initial prognosis.
Therefore, the 23 - year - old will sit out the last Group A tie with South Africa on Wednesday in Uyo.
Also, the central midfielder will not take part in Reading’s next game in the Championship with Cardiff City while he’s rated 50 - 50 for the following game with Norwich City.
“Though, the injury is not too serious, but it will take him at least two weeks to recover, including the rehabilitation period before returning to action,’’ Super Eagles doctor Ibrahim Gyaran said in a press release.
Hope Akpan made way for another Anglo - Nigerian player Sone Aluko in the 53rd minute of the game with Congo after feeling pains in his shoulder.
