Under 23 National Team Coaches Erroneously Invite Bronshoj Striker Oke Akpoveta For Training Camp
Published: December 15, 2014
The Under 23 national team coaches have erroneously invited Brønshøj striker Oke Akpoveta to attend the ongoing screening exercise in Abuja as he is not eligible to represent the Dream Team at the Olympic Games, having clocked 23 years already.
For the time being, Oke Akpoveta is training with the squad at the Fifa Goal Project in Abuja, but he has been told that he will not be considered for the qualification matches.
“I am in camp already, they asked me to come when I arrived Nigeria. The problem is that I am 23 years old now, so I can not play the qualifying matches,” Oke Akpoveta told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“They asked me to train with them for some few days; maybe they will need me in future. It is a good feeling to be selected among the squad.”
The former Warri Wolves forward has netted 2 goals in his last 3 matches in the Danish First Division.
