Samuel Okon Handed Recall By Flying Eagles Coach, Manu Garba
Published: December 31, 2014
Credible sources close to the Flying Eagles setup have informed allnigeriasoccer.com that Samuel Okon has been handed an invitation to the team after he was earlier omitted by coach Manu Garba and his technical crew.
Due to the unavailability of majority of the overseas based professionals, the coaches decided to invite the left fullback to complete the roster.
And they had considered recalling new MS Ashdod signing Aliyu Abubakar to join the squad, but discarded that option due to the fact that the Israeli club will not release him for the training camp.
Now 18, Samuel Okon had been linked with moves to Red Bull Salzburg, Sporting Gijon, Atlético Madrid plus Real Oviedo this year but none of the proposed switch has materialized yet.
He featured in every single game contested by the Golden Eaglets at the 2013 Fifa Under 17s.
