Yaya Toure Beats Enyeama To Win African Footballer Of The Year Award
Published: January 09, 2015
For the fourth straight year, Ivory Coast national teamer Yaya Toure has been chosen as the most outstanding footballer in Africa.
To scoop the accolade, the Manchester City midfielder saw off competition from Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Super Eagles numero uno Vincent Enyeama in that order.
Yaya Toure has become the first footballer to be chosen as African Footballer of the Year four times in a row, and has equaled the achievement of Cameroon international Samuel Etoo, who also won the award four times.
Rivers Angels striker Asisat Oshoala won the Women’s Player of the Year and Youth Player of the Year.
The Falcons were the best Women’s National Team of the Year while President Goodluck Jonathan was a recipient of the Platinum Order.
