Free Agent Francesca Ordega Hoping To Attract Suitors At World Cup
Published: March 10, 2015
Free agent Francesca Ordega is hoping to put herself in the shop window at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The 21 - year - old is on the lookout for a new team after her contract was not extended by Swedish Damallsvenskan side Pitea IF at the end of the 2014 season.
“I know the immediate task before us is to qualify for both the All Africa games and the Olympic games against Mali but this cannot stop me from dreaming about the world cup because I know we would beat Mali to qualify for both games.
“At the last world cup in Germany, I was one of the young players drafted into the Super Falcons from the Under-20 team that lost in the final.
“I didn’t get to kick a ball then, so I want to make my mark this time in Canada,,”Ordega told Super Falcons media officer Gracious Akujobi, according to thenff.com.
Meanwhile, KIF Orebro have offered new deals to Nigeria internationals Sarah Michael and Ogonna Chukwudi, while Scotland international Ifeoma Dieke will remain on the books of Vittsjo GIK.
