Flying Eagles Midfielder Abdullahi Alfa Targets AYC Trophy
Published: March 11, 2015
On the back of their 3 - 1 win over Senegal in their opening fixture of the African Youth Championship, the Flying Eagles bid to qualify for the 2015 Fifa Under 20s is straightforward.
Midfielder Abdullahi Alfa has done his homework, and he is aware a victory today against Congo means the Flying Eagles WILL qualify for the tournament in New Zealand no matter the outcome of the other Group A fixture between Ivory Coast and Senegal.
“We have seen that they are a very strong side, but we want to beat them so as to reach the next stage of the tournament.
“We are here for the trophy. We are not under pressure and we will take each match as it comes,”said Abdullahi Alfa to the official website of the Nigeria Football Federation, thenff.com.
The 18 - year - old starred for the Golden Eaglets at the Fifa Under 17 World Cup two years back, featuring in every single game.
