Super Eagles Suffer Shock Loss To Uganda
There were boos from supporters towards the end of the international friendly between Nigeria and Uganda after the visitors shocked the 2013 African Cup of Nations champions by taking an 81st minute lead through Farouk Miya.

The Vipers striker’s shot was deflected by a Nigerian defender, and Vincent Enyeama managed to save the ball before punching it into his own net.

The 1- 0 loss means the Super Eagles have not won a competitive fixture at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium, having drawn 2 -2 with South Africa last November.

Early in the first half, Nigeria had a chance to take the lead, with Ukoh laying up an assist for Hope Akpan, and the Reading midfielder forced Onyango to make a save.

On 20 minutes, the ex Switzerland youth international struck from distance but the shot did not pose any problem from the Uganda glovesman.

Fives minutes later, Massa ’s free-kick narrowly missed the intended target, and there were no more threats from both teams before the end of the first half.

On 70 minutes, Massa somehow found space to create havoc, only for his final touch to let him down.

Nine minutes from time, the goal the Ugandans had been searching for finally arrived after Farouk Miya capitalized on slack defending by the Super Eagles to put his side in front.

Nigeria went for the jugular, with coach Daniel Amokachi pulling out Odion Ighalo for Aaron Samuel but the scoreboard did not change until the final whistle.

The Super Eagles will trade tackles with South Africa in another friendly on March 29 in Nelspruit.
