Nigeria international Odion Ighalo netted twice to assist Premiership newcomers Watford defeat SC Verl in a pre - season friendly on Wednesday.
The 26 - year - old ’s first - half goals took his tally in pre - season to 5 goals from 3 matches.
Scotland international Ikechi Anya, who is of Nigerian descent, struck in the 41st minute to give the Hornets a three - goal advantage heading into the intermission.
12 minutes after the restart, Ighalo was subbed off while Anya made way for Lewis ten minutes later.
Watford will trade tackles with Eintracht Braunschweig in their next friendly on Friday, July 17.
