Man City Skipper Kompany Delighted With Progress Of Kelechi Iheanacho
Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany has called Kelechi Iheanacho a talent and has predicted that the Nigerian will score more goals for the club after netting the match - winner against Crystal Palace last weekend.

The 18 - year - old is behind Sergio Aguero and Wilfried Bony in Manuel Pellegrini’s pecking order of strikers but the Belgium international has inferred that the Flying Eagles star would be delighted that he was promoted to the first team before the start of the season after impressing during pre - season.

“He’s had a really good pre-season - even when he didn’t play well he scored, ” Kompany told Manchester Evening News .

“At the moment it looks like he’s third in the pecking order, and at his young age and at this kind of club, it’s a massive achievement already.

“So for him to score I can only hope that he’s going to score even more for us. It’s great for the club to have a young player coming through.”

Kelechi Iheanacho will not feature for Man City on Tuesday in their Champions League clash against Juventus because he is not eligible for the competition.
