Odion Ighalo Hoping To Follow In The Footsteps Of Okocha & Odemwingie, Nominated For EPL Player Of The Month Award
Published: October 15, 2015Nigeria international Odion Ighalo is in the running for the Premier League Player of the Month award for September.
The Watford star is one of six players shortlisted and will have to see off competition from Jamie Vardy (Leicester City) Hugo Lloris (Tottenham Hotspur), Dimitri Payet (West Ham United) and Manchester United duo Anthony Martial and Daley Blind.
During the period under review, Odion Ighalo netted 3 goals in 3 matches in games against Swansea City and Newcastle United.

Should Ighalo win the accolade, he will follow in the footsteps of Austin Okocha and Peter Odemwingie, who have both won the award in the past.
Ex Bolton Wanderers hero Okocha scooped the Player of the Month award in November 2003 while Odemwingie was the best player in the English top flight in September 2010, April 2011 and February 2012.
