Brown Ideye Says Olympiakos Will Not Sit Back Against Arsenal
Published: December 09, 2015Brown Ideye is targeting victory against Arsenal in the Champions League on Wednesday night but is aware that Olympiakos have to be defensively solid to overcome the opponents from London.
The Super League champions will qualify for the knockout round of the competition if they manage to avoid defeat at Karaiskakis Stadium.
“We will attack, attack and score goals. First, to defend well and then to get a counterattack. If we manage to score once then Arsenal would have to score many more, ” Ideye told reporters at Tuesday’s press conference.
“We know how to win but they must at all costs defeat us with many goals and that’s pressure.”
Arsenal have an injury crisis on their hands, with the likes of Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere, Alexis Sánchez, Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla all sidelined, but Brown Ideye believes the Gunners will be dangerous nonetheless.
“Not at all. I would not say that. They are not weak, clearly has injury problems but will come to win.
“We want to win, to move and give joy to our fans. I am very happy and I think tomorrow we will do our best to win.
“I have had calls from England and my friends and everyone wished me victory. I’m 100% confident that we will win and we will advance, ” added Brown Ideye.
The Nigeria international has played five games for The Reds in the Champions League, scoring once against Dinamo Zagreb in October.
