New Concordia Chiajna Signing Christian Obodo Clearly Moved By Warm Reception From Teammates
Published: January 28, 2016Nigeria international Christian Obodo is delighted to complete his move to CS Concordia Chiajna, and was clearly moved by the warm reception he received from his new teammates at their training camp in Italy.
The former Udinese and Fiorentina star ended speculation about his future about two weeks ago after signing a six month contract with the Romanian top-flight club.
“I wasn’t on trial at Concordia Chiajna, I have already signed a six-month contract and will be presented to the media between February 2-5 when the team returns to Romania, ” Christian Obodo told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“I had so many offers but had to stay back in Italy because of my Italian passport. I want to stay here (at Concordia Chiajna) and see what happens in the summer.
“I was happy meeting the players, they were happy to see me. They respect me a lot and never believed I will sign for the club.”
The 31-year-old Obodo has not been handed a jersey number but has requested for the number 5 or 99 kit.
The defensive midfielder has had spells with clubs based in Italy, Belarus, Portugal and Greece.
