Enyimba Star Ezekiel Bassey Undecided Over Trip To West Ham
Published: January 31, 2016Enyimba striker Ezekiel Bassey has confirmed a report by africanfootball.com that he has been invited to undergo trials with English Premier League club West Ham.
However, the Nigeria international remains undecided whether to make the trip from Aba to London and has stressed that he will not walk out on Enyimba and join another NPFL team for the upcoming season.
“It is true I have an invitation letter from West Ham to attend trials but I don’t know for now if I will travel, ” Ezekiel Bassey told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Tomorrow is the deadline for the transfer window, so I’m not joining a foreign club in this window.
“After the African Nations Championship, they sent me the invitation letter. I have not yet started processing my visa.
“I am a player of Enyimba, I can’t leave them for any club in Nigeria.”
Bassey had limited playing opportunities at the African Nations Championship, with Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh preferring Sunshine Stars striker Tunde Adeniji to lead his frontline.
