Taye Academy Expects Payment From Dummy Diamond Academy Over Kelechi Nwakali Transfer To Arsenal
Published: January 31, 2016The proprietor of Taye Academy, Kennedy Ezenwere, expects the family of Kelechi Nwakali to honour the gentlemen’s agreement both parties reached before the Nigeria U17 international traveled to London for contract talks with Arsenal.
The Golden Eaglets skipper was on the books of Taye Academy for five years before he was illegally acquired by an academy owned by coach Emmanuel Amuneke.
“I was contacted by Kelechi Nwakali’s elder brother and they promised to pay me when he moves to Arsenal, ” Kennedy Ezenwere told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“I don’t want to make trouble with anybody, whatever they fell like paying me they should pay me.
“Kelechi joined my team in 2008 and he left in 2013 after Emmanuel Amuneke took him. They are from the same village.”
Two dummy academies - Diamond Academy and ASJ - now claim they own the sporting rights of Kelechi Nwakali, and are in advanced negotiations with Arsenal for the central midfielder to join the club this coming summer.
To cut a long story short, Kennedy Ezenwere has lost 2.5 million pounds in transfer fees that could rise to 4.5 million pounds if you include performance-related incentives and sell-on fee that he would have pocketed alone if Nwakali was not poached illegitimately from his academy.
