Shanghai Greenland Shenhua On Brink Of Deal For Seattle Sounders Star Obafemi Martins
Published: February 14, 2016Chinese Super League club Shanghai Greenland Shenhua are on the verge of announcing the capture of Obafemi Martins from Seattle Sounders, according to reports.
Shanghai Greenland Shenhua are in the market for a proven goalscorer before the close of the transfer market and attempted to sign Nani(Fenerbahce), Remy(Chelsea), Doumbia(Roma) and Radamel Falcao without success.
Martins joined Seattle Sounders in 2013 from Levante and scored 40 goals and 23 assists in 72 games for the CenturyLink Field outfit.
The 31-year-old previously turned out for clubs in Italy(Reggiana and Inter Milan), England(Newcastle United and Birmingham City), Russia (Rubin Kazan) and Germany(Wolfsburg) apart from the aforementioned teams.
Seattle Sounders have declined to comment on reports linking Martins with a shift to the Chinese Super League.
