World Exclusive: Kelechi Nwakali & Chukwueze Move To Arsenal On Brink Of Collapse; Players Refuse To Undergo Trials
Published: February 22, 2016Kelechi Nwakali might be back on the transfer market with his representatives rejecting a proposal from Arsenal for the Golden Eaglets skipper to undergo trials before being offered a contract.
The central midfielder and fellow Nigeria U17 international Samuel Chukwueze traveled to London for contract talks with The Gunners but there has not been any official pronouncement by the English Premiership team and the players’ camp whether or not they have penned preliminary contracts.
A top source privy to negotiations told allnigeriasoccer.com : “Kelechi and Chukwueze have not signed any pre-contract with Arsenal. Arsenal insisted they must do trials and they refused.”
It is understood that Kelechi Nwakali’s minders have opened a line of communication with other teams that are interested in his services, with his move to N7 7AJ on the brink of collapse.
The deal that would have taken him to Arsenal was brokered by United Kingdom - based agency, Stellar Group.
