A round-up of Super Eagles players that were in action on Saturday in the European Leagues ahead of next Friday’s African Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Egypt.

Odion Ighalo played the full 90 minutes as Watford lost 2-1 to Stoke City at the Vic, dispelling the notion that he was not in tip-top condition to face the North Africans. He has not scored in the Premier League in his last seven games.

Chelsea’s loan agreement with West Ham meant Victor Moses was not in action against his parent club at Stamford Bridge.

The winger is lacking match fitness having failed to feature in the last four games contested by the Hammers across all competitions. Midfielder Obi Mikel went the distance for the champions.

Alex Iwobi shone like a million stars in Arsenal’s 2-0 win against Everton, scoring his first senior goal for the Gunners.

Carl Ikeme was in between the pipes for Wolves in their 1-1 draw with Burnley. Has posted only one shutout in his last five games, which came against Birmingham City.

Mainz 05 defender Leon Balogun sat out his team’s 1-1 draw with Werder Bremen due to a muscular injury. Has gone the distance in nine out of the last ten games played by Mainz in the Bundesliga and remains doubtful for the tie against Egypt.

Umar Aminu scored Osmanlispor FK’s second goal vs Genclerbirligi (3-1).  He was in action for 90 minutes.

The striker has started 17 out of the last 18 matches played by his team in the Super Lig, missing the game against Sivasspor due to accumulated bookings.

In Scotland, Efe Ambrose did not feature for Celtic in their 1-0 away win against Kilmarnock. The central defender has only one minute of game time in the last seven rounds in the Scottish Premiership.

Godfrey Oboabona was suspended for Rizespor’s league game with Akhisar, otherwise he is one of the first names on the team sheet.

CSKA Moscow golden boy Ahmed Musa proved there is nothing to worry about regarding his fitness, notching a brace for the Muscovites in their 2-0 win against Kuban. The ex Kano Pillars star has scored 4 goals in his last 4 games in all competitions.

Teammate Aaron Samuel has been largely inactive since the conclusion of the 2015 Chinese Super League . Has a paltry 29 minutes of game time in the last five months in all competitions.
