FC Ifeanyi Ubah Win Anambra FA Cup
Published: April 04, 2016The Nnewi based FC Ifeanyi Ubah popularly called the Anambra Warriors yesterday defeated the hard fighting Chisco FC of Obosi by two goals to nothing to win the state FA cup back to back.
The team which have been occupied with football actions since Tuesday did not show lackluster at all as Coach Mitko Dubrev fielding a strong side to tackle on the opponent from Obosi local government.
The two sides thrilled football fans to a quality and artistic display at Neros Sports Stadium Nanka, Orumba North local government area of Anambra state during the grand finale of the state FA cup sponsored by Chief Polycarp Emenike, CEO, Neros Pharmaceuticals.
The first half of the action soaked encounter did not produce any as both sides wasted the opportunities they had to draw the first blood.
Ngoma Luamba and Onuoha Uche both of FC Ifeanyi Ubah scared their opponent in the second and tenth minute respectively but could not convert the golden chances they had.
Chisco FC also had their own share of wasted effort the top striker of the club failed to connect a pull out as the first 45mins ended up in a barren draw.
On resuming to the second half, the FC Ifeanyi Ubah technical bench got in an attacking option as Seka Pascal replaces Onuoha Uche tto add bite to the front line.
Seka Pascal was the man to draw the first blood for the Anambra Warriors through a penalty kick after Kofi Nti was heavily brought down in the eighteen yard box by a defender of Chisco FC in the 54th minutes of play.
Jimoh got a brace for his side in the seventy first minute after a brilliant run through the vital area of the Chisco FC.
Adeleye Olamilekan was a terror to the strikers of Chisco FC as all efforts of testing goalkeeper Uche Okafor in goal for FC Ifeanyi Ubah proofed abortive.
Earlier, the Morning Stars of Onitsha defeated the Jimbaz also of Onitsha to clinch the third place in a penalty shoot out .
The winner went home with a giant trophy and a cash prize of two million Naira, the runners up, a million Naira and the third place club smiled home with five hundred thousand Naira.
