Brazil Slayer Ubong Ekpai Set To Follow In The Footsteps Of Aiyegbeni, In Talks With Maccabi Haifa
Published: April 13, 2016Nigeria U23 international Ubong Ekpai has arrived in Israel for negotiations with Premier League side Maccabi Haifa, with a view to a transfer in the summer.
The official website of The Greens has reported that the Akwa United striker has passed a medical examination and will begin training with the team.
If Ubong Ekpai impresses manager Ronny Levy during the workouts plus test games and he is offered a contract, he will follow in the footsteps of Yakubu Aiyegbeni, who defended the colours of the club from 1998–2003.
The 20-year-old netted the match-winning goal for the Nigeria U23s in their friendly against Brazil last month.
Emmanuel Abuma King recently penned a multi-year contract with Maccabi Haifa and plays for the youth team of the club.
