Mighty Jets Condole Giwa FC On Demise Of Player
Published: May 07, 2016The President of the Board of Directors, Board Members, Chairman of Management, Management members, officials and players of Mighty Jets FC of Jos condole with the management, officials and players of Giwa FC of Jos on the demise of their goalkeeper, Timothy Chichi Okere who died after a prolonged illness in Jos on Wednesday, the 4th of May.
In a statement released by the Club and signed by the Clubs Director of Administration, Nasiru Rabiu, Mighty Jets sympathized with Giwa as well as the family of the deceased on the death of one of their players. .
“It is very unfortunate that we lost this talented goalkeeper at this time when he was blossoming into one of the finest goalkeepers in the City of Jos.
“We mourn with his family and the club. We pray for God Almighty to accept his soul ”, part of the statement reads.
Timothy, who was a former goalkeeper of Mighty Jets was an important member of Giwa squad in the Nigeria National League, NNL, and played a pivotal role towards helping the team gained promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, three years ago.
He lost his battle with spinal cord related ailment after he was bedridden for close to two years.
