Nigeria U23s Coach Tells Players They Will Fail In Brazil If....
Published: June 25, 2016Nigeria U23s coach Samson Siasia slammed his players in the wake of their 4-3 loss to the Flying Eagles in a scrimmage on Saturday morning at the National Stadium in Abuja.
And the former Nantes striker stressed in his post-match talk to the players that they will not put up a credible performance at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil if they play the way they did against the younger Flying Eagles.
Indeed, the scoreline flattered the Dream Team VI and they would have conceded more goals but the match officials made several calls that favoured them.
“The players were angry, the coach was angry with the result. It is the same thing that happened to the team in South Korea during the Suwon Invitational Tournament, ” a source told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Any little chance the opponents scored even though they were playing well.
“Siasia said they can’t play like this at the Olympics or they won’t qualify for the knockout rounds. ”
The players and officials will head to Atlanta, United States for a training camp this coming week.
