Flying Eagles coach Aliyu Zubairu explains U20 Afcon snub to Dutch-Nigerian central defender

Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Flying Eagles coach Aliyu Zubairu has informed Dutch-Nigerian centre-back Endurance Alade of the reason behind his omission from the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations squad.

Born on March 29, 2005 in Vlissingen, the defender qualifies to represent Nigeria through his parents and the Netherlands, where he was born.

After committing his international future to Nigeria, he had hoped to earn a spot in the squad for the U20 Afcon in Egypt.

He was informed by the Flying Eagles coach that being on trial was the cause of his exclusion and was wished the best for his future endeavors.

Alade is currently on trial with Dutch club FC Dordrecht, where Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong played during the 2014-2015 season on loan from his parent club Groningen.

The FC Dordrecht U21 coaching staff has been keeping a close eye on Alade since last Thursday, and he will continue his training with the club until May 1, 2025, when a decision will be made about offering him a contract.

Alade is currently a free agent after his contract with VV Spijkenisse expired, following a two-year stint at the club.

The former MSV ́71 and Excelsior Maassluis youth teamer describes himself as a defender who thrives in one-on-one encounters, combining skill and strength.
