Wolverhampton Wanderers Hand Trials To Ex-Barcelona Defender Godswill Ekpolo
Published: July 16, 2016Nigeria U23 international Godswill Ekpolo is undergoing trials at Football League Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers, with a view to a transfer in the summer transfer window.
The right fullback is on the look-out for a new club following his release by La Liga giants Barcelona at the end of last month.
The coaching staff at Wolves ran the rule over Ekpolo on Saturday as the Development squad recorded a 2-1 win over Hednesford Town in a pre-season friendly.
If the 21-year-old impresses in the test games and is offered a deal, he will join Dominic Iorfa, Carl Ikeme and Bright Enobakhare at the Molineux Stadium outfit.
Born in Benin City, Godswill Ekpolo trained with Nigeria’s U23 national team this summer but was not named to the 35-man provisional roster for the 2016 Olympic Games.
He was on the books of Barcelona for eleven years before his departure in June.
