Published: August 07, 2016Coach Samson Siasia has admitted that he would not have included CD Feirense attacking midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo in his squad list for the Olympic Games if he was not a player with quality.
The 2015 CAF Most Promising Talent of the Year showed his class with an imperious display against Japan, scoring four goals to help Nigeria secure a 5-4 win few hours after their arrival in Manaus.
“Etebo is a very dedicated boy . Plays with joy. He’s very good , otherwise he would not be at the Olympics, ” said Samson Siasia.
The 20-year-old Etebo is expected to retain his place in the starting line-up against Sweden on Sunday night.
He beat a record first set by ex-Arsenal striker Nwankwo Kanu when he netted a haul against the Japanese.
