With a statement published on their official webpage, Tottenham Hotspur have announced that England international of Nigerian descent Dele Alli has penned a new contract with the Premier League side.

The new contract will keep the attacking midfielder at White Hart Lane until 2022.

Alli joined Spurs from MK Dons in January 2015 but was immediately loaned back to the League One club for the remainder of that season.

Born in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, he had caps for England’s U17, U18, U19, and U21 teams before making his debut for the senior side in October 2015.

Alli picked up the PFA Young Player of the Year award and was named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year last term.
