Ex-Golden Eaglets Star Aliyu To Hold Contract Talks With KuPS
Published: September 20, 2016Nigeria youth international Abubakar Aliyu has revealed that he will hold contract talks with Finnish Veikkausliiga side KuPS next month, amid interest from clubs based in Israel, France and Finland.
The central defender will walk away as a free agent if the Kuopio-based team do not exercise the right to prolong his stay for an additional twelve months at the end of the 2016 season.
“Let us see how the season ends, I just want to focus on the remaining six games we are playing, one of the six is tomorrow, ”Abubakar Aliyu told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Talks have not taken place yet, we agreed on when the season ends after the six games. ”
Abubakar, 20, has played 23 out of a possible 27 games for KuPS in the Finnish top-flight this season, logging 1,772 minutes and has received two cautions.
He is one of the four Nigerians on the payroll of KuPS, the others being Nigeria internationals Gbolahan Salami, Paul Onobi and Azubuike Egwuekwe.
