Football College Abuja Chief Renzo Escapes To Italy To Avoid Prosecution Over Transfer Of Okonkwo
Published: October 05, 2016According to information gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com, Football College Abuja supremo Gobbo Renzo has escaped to Italy to avoid prosecution by the Nigerian authorities regarding the transfer of Orji Okonkwo to Bologna.
St Thomas FC Benin City had reached an agreement with Football College Abuja that they will be paid five percent of the transfer fees when the Nigeria U20 international signs for a foreign club, but have not received payment up to this moment.
St Thomas wrote through their lawyer demanding payment and issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Abuja-based side to liquidate the debt, only for Renzo to take off to Italy just before it expired last week Wednesday.
Renzo was brought to Nigeria by the promoters of Football College Abuja as coach but usurped Kumbi Titiloye’s job of CEO of the club, and is the man behind all the transfers of their players to Europe, especially Italian clubs.
He was one of the parties that brokered the deal that took Nigeria U23 international Sadiq Umar to AS Roma.
