Rohr Settles Debate: Ogu is Inferior To Nigeria Top Scorer In Europe Nosa
Published: October 07, 2016Speaking at Friday’s press conference, Super Eagles coach Rohr explained why he has not handed a call-up to Hapoel Beer Sheva ace John Ogu since he took over the national team.
It has come to light that Ogu has been scouted by the German coach and the verdict is that he is inferior to Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder Nosa Igiebor.
“I know we have players in Israel ; and we have one in the team playing in that same position. But he ( John Ogu) is not better than the one we have in the camp (Nosa Igiebor) now because I have seen their videos, ” Rohr told reporters.
“We can talk about thousands of Nigerian players across the world but I have the best here in the camp now.”
If the Nordic countries are not included in the mix, given that their leagues started much earlier, Igiebor is Nigeria’s top scorer in the European top flight so far this season with seven goals to his name in all competitions.
