Nigeria Waits As Wolves GK Ikeme Suffers Hip Injury Ahead Of Algeria WCQ

Wolverhampton Wanderers are sweating on the fitness of Nigeria goalkeeper Carl Ikeme ahead of their next competitive fixture against Derby County in the Football League Championship.
The shot-stopper had to be replaced before the start of the second half in Wolves’ 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday after picking up a hip injury when he stretched to make a save.
Both the Molineux Stadium and Ikeme have released a statement, hoping that the injury sustained by the Nigerian is not a long-term injury.
“Carl Ikeme had a hip injury which Rob hopes isn’t too serious. Pleased to see Andy Lonergan make a positive impact when he came on, ” Wolves said in a statement via Twitter.
Ikeme added : “We deserved at least a point and lads all dug in. Hopefully injury nothing to serious.Congrats @_DaveEdwards great goal and performance ð���ð��¾.”
It is envisaged that the goalkeeper will undergo tests in the coming days to determine the severity of the injury.
