Handwriting On The Wall As GK Ezenwa Trains Separately From Squad
Published: November 08, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that FC Ifeanyi Ubah netminder Ikechukwu Ezenwa already has a premonition that he will not be in between the pipes when the Super Eagles face off with the Desert Foxes on Saturday.
Ezenwa, who is the only local-based player named to the 23-man roster, trained separately from the rest of the squad at the start of Tuesday evening’s workout on the practice pitch of the National Stadium in Abuja.
Goalkeeper trainer Alloy Agu was sighted putting him through his paces while the rest of the squad were involved in a practice game, meaning he is the third choice goalie in the squad at this moment.
F.C. Cesarense glovesman Dele Alampasu manned one of the posts and Chippa United star Daniel Akpeyi occupied the other during practice.
Today will make it 37 days since Ezenwa last featured in a competitive match, the 1-0 loss suffered by FC Ifeanyi Ubah away to Mountain Of Fire on the final day of the 2016 season.
