Bendebka Handed Late Call-Up As Leicester Record Buy Misses Algeria Training
Published: November 09, 2016
NA Hussein Dey midfielder Sofiane Bendebka has been handed a late call-up to the Algerian national team ahead of their trip to Uyo on Thursday for a World Cup qualifier versus the Super Eagles.
Bendebka was invited to join the Desert Foxes on Tuesday because manager George Leekens might not be able to count on the services of Napoli ace Faouzi Ghoulam, who is struggling to overcome an adductor injury he picked up against Roma last weekend in the Serie A.
Meanwhile, Leicester City striker Islam Slimani was not present at the Desert Foxes workout on Tuesday evening, and it has been claimed he was excused after suffering fatigue.
Twenty one players took part in the training session which started at 1700 hours.
