SCANDAL: Boavista President Alvaro Braga Sends Security To Chase Uchebo Out Of Club Premises For Rejecting Pay Cut
Published: November 11, 2016Allnigeriasoccer.com understands Nigeria internationals Michael Uchebo and Uche Nwofor have reported Boavista to FIFPro World Players’ Union and football’s governing body Fifa over serious breach of contract and outstanding payments.
The Portuguese Primeira Liga club have not paid Uchebo’s salary since April 2016 and are currently owning him a total gross figure of approximately 300,000 euros including wages and taxes.
A source close to the player has described Uchebo’s situation as modern day slavery as the club has intentionally refused to pay his salary meanwhile other players on the clubs payroll have received their salaries.
Since they stopped Uchebo playing, they have also signed several new players in the summer window and they are paying those players with monies which should have been paid to the striker.
The club president Mr Alvaro Braga and the club administrator Diogo Braga, who is a relative of the president, have both instructed the club security to intimidate the player and on numerous occasions the security operatives have shoved and harassed the player.
