Talented Nigerian Striker Fela Unlikely To Face Former Club Arsenal In League Cup

Talented Nigerian striker Olufela Olomola is unlikely to suit up for Southampton when they face Arsenal in the quarterfinal of the Football League Cup on Wednesday night.
The 19-year-old lasted 90 minutes on the Staplewood Training Ground turf on Monday night as the Saints U23s shared the spoils with Everton in Premier League 2, and this has fueled speculation that he won’t be fielded at the Emirates.
Born in London to Nigerian parents, Olomola started his football apprenticeship with Arsenal but didn’t finish it before joining Southampton in 2014.
He has netted eight goals for Southampton U23 team this term, including the equalizer against Everton two days back.
Though it is all but confirmed that Fela wil be absent tonight, there’s still Nigerian interest in the game with Super Eagles attacking midfielder Alex Iwobi set to return to the Gunners squad.
