Ex-Portland Timbers Starlet Akinjide Idowu : Messi Is My Favourite Player
Published: December 17, 2016Former Nigeria U20 international Akinjide Idowu has named Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi as his favourite player.
The defensive midfielder joined Moldovan National Division club Speran�a Nisporeni in the summer form American side Portland Timbers.
“Lionel Messi because of his dribbling ability and scoring. Amazing, ”Idowu told moldfootball.com when asked about his favourite player.
A product of Nath Boys Academy, Idowu was an important member of the Golden Eaglets squad in 2013 before representing the country at the Fifa U20s in New Zealand two years later.
“It is winning the World Cup in 2013. It took place in the United Arab Emirates, we defeated a strong team of Mexico, is an unforgettable experience.
“And two years later as part of Nigeria U-20, we went to the World Cup in New Zealand. And although it has not developed so successfully for us, I gained valuable experience, ” Idowu added.
Last season, Idowu suited up nine times for Speran�a Nisporeni in the Moldovan top division.
