Iheanacho, Iwobi & Onomah Miss Out On UEFA Champions League Breakthrough Team
Published: December 24, 2016No player of Nigerian descent has been included in UEFA Champions League breakthrough team of 2016.
Europe’s governing body has selected the eleven most outstanding players for each position who have broken through in 2016, leaving out the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho (Manchester City), Alex Iwobi (Arsenal) and Josh Onomah (Tottenham Hotspur).
Other footballers with Nigerian blood in their veins that participated in the competition this season include Ahmed Musa (Leicester City), Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur) and David Alaba (Bayern Munich).
The symbolic starting eleven is managed by Real Madrid coach Zinédine Zidane .
