Official : Ex-West Ham Youth-Team Skipper Manny Onariase Joins Cheltenham Town
Published: January 02, 2017Former West Ham central defender Emmanuel Onariase has joined EFL League Two club Cheltenham Town on loan for the remainder of the 2016-2017 season.
The paperwork has been completed and the young Nigerian may make his debut against Colchester on Monday afternoon.
Onariase, who models his game after ex-Super Eagles skipper Joseph Yobo, began his football education at West Ham at the age of 12, before joining Brentford in January 2016.
The 20-year-old has got good communication skills, constantly organizes the back line and the midfield, poses an aerial threat and is excellent in 1v1 defending.
He has committed his international future to Nigeria ahead of England where he was born.
