Man City Striker Iheanacho Claims CAF Most Promising Talent Award Again
Published: January 05, 2017
Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho has been named the best youngster in Africa after winning the Most Promising Talent for 2016 at the Glo-CAF Awards at a ceremony in Abuja on Thursday night.
The Taye Academy product saw off competition from Elia Meschak (DR Congo & TP Mazembe) and Naby Keita (Guinea & RB Leipzig) to win the prestigious accolade for the second time in his career.
Other Nigerian players that have won the Most Promising Talent of the Year include Obafemi Martins (2), Obi Mikel, Taye Taiwo and Oghenekaro Etebo.
Iheanacho, 20, was unavoidably absent at the ceremony because of commitments with Manchester City, who face West Ham in the FA Cup on Friday.
