QPR Boss Sings The Praises Of Nigerian Starlets Eze, Shodipo Despite Cup Exit
Published: January 08, 2017
Queens Park Rangers boss Ian Holloway was disappointed after his side crashed out of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday, but the positives he took away from the match against Blackburn Rovers was the display of two talented young Nigerian players.
Striker Eberechi Eze lasted 18 minutes on his debut before subbing out due to an ankle complaint, while Republic of Ireland U21 winger Olamide Shodipo was introduced in the 56th minute.
“I thought young Eze showed glimpses of what he’s capable of during the time he was on,” Holloway told the official website of QPR.
“He will have plenty of time to play again. He’s only a kid still. He had to come off with a precautionary ankle injury.
“Shodipo came on and did well so that’s another positive for us to take.”
Nedum Onuoha and Super Eagles midfielder Hope Akpan were also in action for Queens Park Rangers and Blackburn Rovers respectively.
